iPhone notes sync with Mail overwritten

I have an iPhone 4 with MobileMe and a MacBook Pro. In Mail, I have a note that I keep my grocery list in. When I leave for the grocery store my notes are in sync between the iPhone 4 and MacBook Pro. While in the store, I delete items in the note when I pick them up, click Done in the Notes app, and put the iPhone back in my pocket. For some reason, the deletion is not synced to MobileMe and the entire grocery list reappears on my iPhone. Of course, this occurs with all of my notes, but is most noticeable with the grocery list. Does anyone else have this problem, or a solution? Thanks...
