Can owners or iPhones with OLED screens do this test?

Condition: pitch dark room
Phone settings: low brightness (the lower, the more evident the issue - try lowest).
Dark mode on.

Issue: as you scroll up and down in the settings app, the dark grey from the different menu sections overflows / bleeds into the black for a second or so.
Strangely though, it doesn’t affect other colours, mainly dark greys.

See my video to see what I’m referring to.
The same happens on the other video. If you focus on the grey of the icon of IMDB or Google photos - with brightness high on your screen you are viewing it, you will see the icon changing shape as I scroll up and down.

Some say it’s just OLED technology and not an iPhone issue...
If you could test this I’d be grateful. Thanks 🙏🏼

I see, what you refer to, but don't you think, you are a bit too much into inevitable details? I do not want to be harsh, but you are creating a lab-like environment and complain about a (kind of) almost not remarkable stuttering of the screen of the iphone, if you scroll up and down. I would just forget about that and use the phone the way, everyone else does - not in the laboratory.

Thanks for answering.

I actually noticed it on day one I had the phone, no need to create any special scene - I was in bed and brightness was low to avoid waking up my partner who was asleep. Hence no lab scene particularly set up to spot thr issue..

By the way I just checked a friend’s 12 and it’s not even noticeable on his - very minor, wouldn’t be bothered by that, so mine seems to be more severely affected.

I also reported it to apple - shared the same video - and the senior advisor said my phone’s behaviour is not normal. They said to try updating to 14.3 in a few days and reinstalling the software.

Also to give you some context, I have had an iPhone XR for 2 years and I don’t think I’ve written in an online post even one message about the phone. It all went smoothly, no unexpected behaviour...

Nothing againts your post in general ;)
But we (including me) tend to be a bit 1000% perfectionists sometimes.
I do have exactly the same behaviour on my 11pro as well. Just dark mode on, brightness normal.
...and a pretty expensive Huawei I just could test, does that too - much more noticeable.

I’ve now tested it against 2 different phones - a 12 and a 12 pro, and under those same circumstances, my 12 displays a behaviour that in the other 2 was barely noticeable. I wouldn’t have been bothered by how the other 2 behaved. So mine is definitely off..
At the top the video of mine.
Bottom my wife’s..
