What are the chances that iPhone will work with other carriers in the future? I am a current Verizon customer in NYC and I hear not so good things about AT&T service..... It would suck to have to deal with drop calls, dead zones, no service, etc.... Any current AT&T customers, please let me know how your service is.

Right now, much better odds of it hitting T-Mobile after the exclusive period, since it is a GSM phone. Verizon / Sprint use a different type of network (CDMA).

But over the years, many things can happen, and I wouldn't be surprised if Apple makes a CDMA version of iPhone eventually if it is a success.

Chances are very slim as of now. Don't hope on it anytime soon.

I can't speak for NY but here in CA (Northern CA) I get great service with AT&T. I have to admit I get about 1 dropped call every 3 or 4 weeks or so when I never got one on Verizon. But hey, that's not terrible.

Watch out there my friend... the iPhone fanboys are going to come in and wreck your thread for bad mouthing Cingular.

I don't think the iPhone will be on the Verizon network or any other (better than Cingular) network for at least five years as per some long forgotten rumors. It's hard finding real facts about things like this since no one is posting anything bad or factual about the iPhone these days, only the good stuff.

I can't wait for it to come out on every other network so Apple's stock can really fly, but as for now we will wait and see Apple's beta testing of the Rev A iPhone.
