Will updating to the iPhone OS 3.0 Beta firmware lock an iPhone in testing mode?

Is this lock reversible?

Would I be able to downgrade also?

And last but not least, is it possible for a non-developer-account-owning user to obtain the iPhone OS 3.0 Beta?

Theres more to it. Do a search, there are only about 900 threads on it here regarding 3.0 beta.
