This is the unofficial iPhone OS 4.0 beta buglist.
-------------------
All screenshots below \/

I just installed the beta a few days ago and, so far, it is good. But, here are a few bugs and glitches I have found:

BUG #1: Wallpaper on iPod touch
I found this when I first installed. It was the first thing I tried out .
Basically, you cannot set the homescreen wallpaper on the iPod touch 2G/3G. Correct me if I'm wrong about the devices (mine is the 2G 8GB *MC*).

It just skips it completely. See the screenshot to see what I mean.

and then...

BUG #2: [ALMOST] KILLED MULTITASKING
If you have one of the devices (iPhone 3G, iPod touch 2G) that doesn't get multitasking, you may notice that Apple nearly killed it. Like they just TRIED to remove it to get you to buy the newer device (or the 4Gs).

I noticed this in iCall. I left the app in a call, and I saw the double status bar for a few seconds. Weird.

Also, the location icon. I closed maps, and I saw it for a few seconds.

BUG #3: MESSED UP/NO DEFAULT IMAGE IN APPS
Like in Photos, you will see a white/black screen as the "default.png" image.

Or in App Store, you see a weird black bar in the loading screens. [edit: it thinks it is transparent, sorry!]

Other Apple apps do this too.

Plus, Maps has an old default image. See here:

New Maps.

BUG #4: SPRINGBOARD ICONS/FEATURES MISSING
I reset my homescreen layout, and I got a home screen with no icons. If you press the button, you may get the keyboard, but no search.

This is kind of major. I had to reboot to get out of it.

MISCELLANEOUS

I will add more as I find them.

If you find any, please post them and screenshots to be added.

#'s 1 and 2 are related to your device. Work fine on a 3GS or iPT 3G.

I do not get the other problems you're having. Those things haven't happened to me and either of the 2 devices I have 4.0 installed on.

And if you do find legit bugs, report them to Apple. The 4.0 dev forums have the link for filing bug reports. They won't get fixed if people don't file them.

3 more bugs

#1 If you play a song for a few seconds, then change it, the audio freaks out for a sec. to recreate, play a song for about 30 seconds, then change it however you want.

#2 Sync is unstable. iTunes gives the message "iPod could not be restored from backup -(random number) And during a normal sync, the iPod will sometimes flash an image of the app it was in before the sync started.

#3 Wifi is EXTREMELY unstable and slow now when bluetooth is playing audio. Its even worse than the original 3.0

On the other hand you can control the volume of the music from the iPod when using bluetooth audio. AVRCP Still isn't supported and A2DP has gotten more stable. (No more rumbling freakouts)
