Hey guys, so basically I lost my iPhone 3GS this past Sunday and I was sure it was at home but I couldn't find it anywhere. Today I found it outside in my yard. It has been raining the last 4 days. The iPhone was in a leather pouch that only has one open end but rain still got through to the iphone of course.

Is there any hope for it at all? I haven't tried turning it on.

Update: I just noticed that the phone had turned it self back on, the touch screen was working and active but very dim. It had a sim card error related message. I managed to turn the power off.

Update: I took the SIM card out, Put the phone in a ziploc bag full of rice, Placed it in the dehydrator on low heat.

Update: After drying overnight it is fully functional ..Wow..

Looking at your edits, it seems like you are doing what you can. I would wait as long as you can. It is possible that it will be ok once its fully dried out.

I cant believe it - I just went to replace the rice in the bag and I pulled my iphone out and realized it was on asking for the sim. I plugged it into the wall and it started charging, put it my sim, it detected it right away, tested out the camera - it works.

Is this too good to be true or is my iPhone okay?
