When Apple ships iPhones do they just ship in the original box, or do they place the iPhone box w/in a shipping box?

Thanks for any and all replies!

I ordered my IPT from Apple (not a retail store). They shipped the IPT box within a cardboard shipping box.

It's in a shipping box that will not reveal its content. Otherwise you may never receive the package.

    Thanks for the speedy replies.

Since I know Apple has in the past shipped items in their original boxes, I'm glad the iPhone has a shipping box.

I'm actually going to place an order with the giftwrapping option, so I hope it still goes inside a shipping box...

    Thanks again for the replies!

I don't recommend it. I got the giftwrapping option for $5, and it was a crappy white box not worth the money.

    danke

    Well, that's useful info, too.

So, Apple's giftwrapping is basically putting the iPhone in a whitebox with a ribbon and card? (which then goes into a shipping box)...hmmm

In any case, thanks again. :)

All refurb Apple products are packaged in a different box than retail. Non-refurbished products are shipped in the original retail box inside of a shipping box.

    Get the Gift Wrap!!!!!

It blew my socks off. It is soooooooo impressive. Sleek, clean, and interesting just like Apple.

Of course, wrap it in something else too, or they'll know what it is.

It was worth $5! If you hate it so much, I'd call apple I'm sure they'll refund you $5.

    I love it though.

Any brand new item will come in its original packaging inside a brown plain cardboard box. Refurb iPods come in a cheap cardboard box. Refurb macs may come the same way as brand new stuff.

Refurb Macs also come in a plain cardboard box (i.e. no fancy graphics or packaging).

Thanks for everyone's experiences and opinions! By the way, the iPhone is a christmas present for my moms...I hope she likes it! :D
