My wife and I are looking into each geting an iPhone. I would like to wait a couple of months to see if a new one comes out or not.

One big question we have is how the iPhone works with a PC? I will be using mine with a Powerbook G4 and she will be using hers for work with a new Dell computer that work supplies her.
How limited will she be with a PC? She is worried about syncing her contacts and calendar. I assume that there will be some issues? I told her she can always sync with my Powerbook as well but she really would like to use her PC for as much as possible.

    Any advice is greatly appreciated

No one can say for sure, but I'd be surprised if any major update to the iPhone (i.e. new 3G model, adding GPS, etc.) happens before WWDC in June, and it's possible that would only be the announcement, not the actual release. It is conceivable that a less major update, like releasing a 16GB model that's otherwise identical to the current 8GB could happen some time between now and then.

My iphone syncs fine with a pc. You can be selective with what you sync, but outlook has to be your default email account.

You can still have multiple e-mail accounts when syncing with Outlook. And you are always able to add more accounts directly on the iPhone that aren't synced from the desktop.

Gmail is a yes, work mail is a ?
Would depend on what mail server client they use...
Web Mail is an option but its not fun on a Phone :)

mail server client? that phrase just gives me a head ache

any imap or pop account will work totally fine, if she is using exchange at work, the only requirement is that IMAP access is enabled on the server.

if it is, she will have access to her email but her global contacts and address book and all of that fun stuff will not populate, strictly email
