The first one's passable but shouldn't be award winning, the others are poor.

Whilst it's true that the best camera is the one you have with you, if you do take a really good pic with your camera phone you'd always wish you'd taken it with your "proper" camera if you have one.

And whats your definition of a proper camera? I doubt David Bailey ever took a shot and wished he had a "proper/better camera" because he is a very good photographer.

A dumb question (please don't flame me) -- for those "Shot With iPhone 6" billboards, how do they blow up an iPhone image to that giant size and still make it look good, despite the relatively low resolution of the original photo?

There is a piece of software called "Perfect Resize" which allows you to upscale images by creating artificial detail using fractal algorithms. They most-likely used that software to upscale the images.

The lumia produces excellent images. Having used both, I prefer the images shot on the Lumia. Both phones are excellent though.

Absolutely. I got one as well and the image quality is way better than my iPhone 6 non-plus (and I consider it to be decent). Additionally, the ability to fine-tune all shot parameters and RAW are outstanding.

Has the battery life improved? I have not used mine since the updates, and remember it being sub par before hand. Might have to dig it out again, I do love the images it produces

I can't tell yet, since I have it just a couple of days now. But it seems to be more or less on par with my regular iPhone 6, but nothing special, though: around 1 day on single charge.

I think, it drains more juice at the beginning, because of all stuff initial syncing and because of me using the camera virtually on everything now ;).

I know what you are saying and at times, when my iPhone completely missed the shot I thought the same.
