iPhone Plan Through Apple

Hey everyone, so I went to the Apple store last night and while there I told the lady when the iPhone 7 comes out I am wanting to do the plan through Apple, but she told me if you go that route you cant preorder and you would have to wait until the phone is released, Is this accurate? I would think thats a huge blow to the idea if you have to wait till it launches THEN order it.

That's not how it worked with the iPhone 6s. The only "catch" with that you had to pick up your pre-order in the store, if you wanted to do the Apple Upgrade plan. I can't imagine they'd change that for the iPhone 7, but who knows with Apple? LOL
 
So when you preordered online you had a option for the plan, and then it did pick up in store as your method? Im fine with picking up in store, I just want to preorder every year and not wait weeks after it comes out
 
As I remember - to do that plan when the 6s came out - you had to do the order and they told you when to come pick up the phone. I didn't want one on day 1 but on day 2 but I could only do day 1 at that time. They were scheduling and you could only order when they had availability and not when you wanted it.
 
i was going to help a friend get an iPhone under their iPhone / apple care deal and i noticed that i need to make a reservation. so i don't think they will take preorders

Right. I did the pre-order, and set the reservation time to pick it up at 6PM on launch day.
 
I'm just glad it gives you this option if you preorder, like I said the girl at the Apple Store told me you couldn't so that's why I asked :)
