My playlists are automatically erased from my iPhone when I connect it to my Mac and open iTunes. I have my music set to manually manage in iTunes and don't know why my playlists are getting deleted.

I made the playlists on the phone and not through the Mac. What is going on?

Bump. I guess I should be whining about dropped calls if I wanted more than one response.

Do you have iTunes 9.2.1? How about the version of iOS, 4.0, 4.0.1?

I have iTunes 9.2.1, but I am waiting on a Jailbreak option for 4.0 so i'm not updating to 4.0.1

I heard 4.0.1 doesn't really help much other than make your bars look like garbage.

Can someone test this out really quick with 4.0.1? Just make a quick playlist on your iPhone, then plug it into iTunes. See if it deletes your playlist.

I've had this happen on 4.0.1, noticed they were gone then the next time I synced my phone they came back.

Edit: More precisely, I synced and did a backup.
