iPhone pre-order activation

Hey guys, long time lurker (years, actually), first time poster...

So my rather open ended question is this... I currently own a 3g and pre-ordered a 3gs, how will the 3gs be activated? Over itunes? Swap the SIM card? I sold my 3g on ebay and need to know if I have too keep it until the 3gs arrives. Thanks in advance! 😎

It's my understanding that you will be able to activate your iPhone via iTunes.

and you'll probably want to keep your current sim to put it in the new phone. the buyer can get their own sim (theyre free)
