So I noticed that my pro max screen is much darker than my friends XR. I had both phones side by side while sitting outside under a cover

I went into display settings and every option was identical.

Any ideas as to why?

Darker in what sense, as in the brightness is quite low (and it's harder to make out things on the screen)?

yeah. My screen was darker so it’s hard to see items.

When you get the chance compare to another device that’s the same model as yours.

ProMax screen is typically very bright when cranked to full brightness

No.

Settings, then accessibility settings, then display and text, go all the way down make sure auto brightness is turned off.
