Outside of screen size and battery in term of daily usage and tons of Photography and Light Video- What would y'all run and prefer. Thinking the best for Tripod/Gimble etc... Obviously the DJI Gimble3 has issues with both weights and motor handling- hoping to be resolved in software of potentially a newer/next model. Thanks!

I‘d go with the Max myself. Depends what you are upgrading from also. The Pro Max is a pretty hefty phone.

I've always preferred having the option of one-handing my device if needed. I tried using a 7+ for a couple of months and I couldn't stand it so there's no way I'd ever be able to tolerate the Max.

Just depends on your usage habits.

Right now i have a Iphone 8 but this will be used as my catch all so Home, Work, Photography and Light/Medium Video.

Also, wondering about car mounts as well... right now I run a Schosche Magnet and I know that won't work = )

I had the Max last year and I could barely tolerate the size, this year they increased all the dimensions and weight. I had it for 2 days and switched to the smaller Pro.

Really just comes down to your usage...there's not really any benefits other than screen and slightly better battery IMO.

The huge display is gorgeous for sure. However, the phone is thiccc, good luck with it in your front pockets without noticing it (unless you have huge pants) One handed user on the smaller Pro is definitely awesome, though sometimes you may desire a larger display if you’re consuming a lot of media on the go

Max is too big for me, and the battery difference is not important to me, if it had a better camera then yes I would consider it but it is identical in terms of camera performance (same lenses, sensors, and so on) so for me iPhone 11 Pro because I like the more discreet size and the ability to shoot quickly and easily one-handed. The Max is awesome but remains a bit unwieldy for me as a one-handed camera.

I could never go back to a traditional mount with arms on the sides. You can use the regular Magic Mount with the plate mounted low on your phone (below the charging coil). Or you can do what I did and upgrade to the MagicMount Charge. Then you get the magnet mount plus wireless charging. It’s perfect IMO.

I think the 11 Pro Max is a gorgeous device. Aesthetically and technologically, it is an absolute awesome device. However, like others have stated, it is a bit unwieldy for me. I like being able to use my phone one handed at times and I do not consume a lot of media on my phone. An occasional YouTube video or some video on Facebook while scrolling. Other than that, I do not watch Hulu, Netflix, etc. The battery life is still stellar on the smaller 11 Pro and it is the perfect size for me. I’m not sure I could ever go back to using a larger device after having the X, Xs and now 11 Pro. It’s just...perfect for me.

the Pro Max doesn’t feel nearly as big and unwieldy as a iPhone 7 Plus or 8 Plus does.

My Pro Max is much easier to hold than my 8 Plus was.

It's not about feeling big and unwieldy. It's that I couldn't use the device with one hand and the fact that the Max has more screen real estate vertically I would think it would be even more difficult.

Or maybe I'm wrong. I dunno. Never tried one before.

I think hand size should play a big part in the decision to go Max. If you don't mind using 2 hands then Max should be a big deal. I have pretty large hands and can do 90% of what I want to do with 1 hand and barely ever need to use a second hand. I don't put the phone in my pocket, I typically keep it on a Seidio Surface Holster. Been doing that for years, and never felt the effects of weight.

The decision to go Pro or Pro Max is VERY subjective, we all know ourselves and what we can tolerate vs what we absolutely dont want.

I am using a Max right now to try it out. I do love it but not sure I can give up the ease of one handed use on the X/XS/Pro.

It is a very nice screen and I can do some things easily but for walking and needed quick access I don’t think it will work for me.

it is a tougher decision than I thought.

I had the XS Max and loved it but decided to downsize to the Pro, the benefits of having the larger screen are outweighed for me by its unwieldy nature.

If you have larger hands or are happy to use the device two handed I’m sure the Max would be great.

With the new Pro I don’t believe battery life is a reason to purchase the larger phone any longer. I made it through an entire day from 7am to 11pm yesterday with 7:25 of screen on time without charging or using low battery mode.

Agreed. I went from 8 Plus to XS and now Pro Max and the thing I’m most surprised about is how much more manageable it feels despite being marginally larger and somewhat heavier.

It’s definitely not an “always one hand” device. But it is possible to use one handed if you enable reachability and make use of the feature that compacts the keyboard to the left or right of the screen.

However, what will prove a problem is the strain of the weight on the wrist if you’re doing a lot of one-handed use.

I’d say unless you’re 100% certain that the larger form factor is a trade off you can accept in return for the screen real estate, don’t do it. After a year with the XS I reached the conclusion that the larger screen is important to me.

I used to go with the "Plus" models because they had better features, notably the two cameras when they first came out in the larger size. But they are big in the pocket and difficult to use one-handed. Now that they contain the same features, I'm going with the regular Pro. The bigger screen is awesome but I have an iPad Pro for home use and when I'm on the go, I'm not consuming a lot of media.

Not really sure how that can be possible, as both the 8 Plus and 11 Pro Max have the same dimensions in width and height but the 11 Max is thicker and heavier.

The draw to me is I don’t want more than one device so my phone is how I will consume media. I don’t have the patience to balance phone, iPad and laptop time so iPad is the thing that loses out.

The max would be nice, I am giving it a few more days before I decide. I do agree that some tasks can be done one handed (but a little harder to pull off than the regular 11 Pro).

My pro is boxed up ready to return for the max today. I of course may change my mind again!

The pro is great in the hand, and it whilst it too is not really a one handed phone either it is never a burden like a max is. The screen though does feel narrow which is hard to get away from.

Why can't I have both ??

I went from iPhone 8 to an 11 Pro. Fir me, the 11 Pro non-Max is a better size, I certainly wouldn’t go any bigger. I have small hands, so prefer the smaller phone. Someone with large hands may appreciate the Max.

I'm ready to return and go back to the X. I will take the $50 hit from Verizon. I have never seen such crap over the last 2 years from Apple. The Xs Max and 11 Pro are bad compared to the X.

In what way? Can’t see how the newer models would be inferior to a two-year-old device...

I have had Plus models in the past and not liked the size, I don't have small hands I just really prefer one handed use.

Both phones are vastly superior compared the X, something else is going on here.
