I have an Amex blue...how do I go about signing up for the extension and in an event I need to use it...do I just call their customer support?
Just make the purchase on the card. Only down side is your covered for whatever you pay so if you do payments or you do a subsidized price, that's all that's covered.

So what if I did Verizon's installment plan option, I would only have a receipt for the phone's taxes...Unsure how I would do something like SquareTrade that requires you to scan them a receipt.

I haven't had insurance for my 4s or 5s, but I am a little nervous with the 128gb 6s and its size.

Great summary thread by the way.

It's not a problem; just send in the receipt per usual.

They just need your info with the model number of the phone, and they can determine the full retail value from there.

Does anyone have a squaretrade coupon they could share? I googled the coupons but none of them seem to be working with the 99$ 2 year warranty plan for iphones. Also, do you need to get approval FIRST before getting your phone fixed at the genius bar?

Bumping this... any recent experience with Squaretrade? I'm consiering giving it a whirl this time, especially since I'd like a 1 year commitment. With coupon code, it's $69.

Coupon code is IPHONE25 for $25 off. And yes you need to file a claim first and get it approved before going to the Genius Bar. Based on my own experience they've approved every claim I've ever made (three so far) within a couple of hours.

Yup, I love SquareTrade. They've covered all my Genius Bar work I've needed with no hassle. Claims get approved quickly (usually in a few hours) and everything is handled smoothly. Also, use coupon code IPHONE25 to get $25 off the warranty -- brings it down a bit more to $64. :)

I have been using https://www.insureappleiphone.com/ for some time. I have them on 2 ipads, 4 phones, and my AW 0.5 (I REFUSE TO CALL IT SERIES 0). I have never used their services yet, but it is another option out there.

They cover theft/loss for all phone/ipads and only theft on the watch (no loss of watch). You need to get a police report to prove theft. There is a stepped down tier system for the cost of theft/loss (damage they will repair/replace), it gets cheaper the older the device.

Disclaimer: I do not work for, nor do I receive any benefits from them. As I stated, I haven't had any losses/damages yet, so I can not report on how well their service works.
