Trying to get my wife a iPhone 15 Pro to upgrade her 13 Pro. She wants the blue so that’s why we are going with the 15 Pro.

On the Apple Store, usually when you click trade in, you get the Apple Upgrade program enroll option, as we are not on Verizon, T-Mobile, or ATT, I always select the unlocked version but it seems on the app the only option is to buy outright or do 24 payments on the Apple Card and it must be one of the 3 carriers.

Not getting a option for upgrade program or unlocked.

Anyone know why it’s only offering the 3 carriers to place an order?

Even tried the actual site and it shows the connect to any carrier option until you select a payment then it forces just one of the 3 carriers.

I order new phones annually and never seen this issue.

Have you started your shopping experience through the iPhone Upgrade Program using this link?

Thanks for posting that link. Seems you have to choose a carrier even using the Apple update program. Buying outright is the only way you don't have to choose a carrier..

Yeah, I just realized that link isn't anything special... Need to select 'No trade-in' to see the iPhone Upgrade Program, but then still need to choose a carrier (which is how it has always been). I misread the original post and thought OP was trying to go through the upgrade program.

OP appears to be on MVNO carrier and not the big three. Unfortunately, Apple eliminated the option last year that unlocked phone’s with no carrier must be paid in full. iPhone Upgrade Program is only for the big three.

I heard about a workaround where you can select T-Mobile as your carrier and pay in monthly payments/IUP, but I have not done this myself as I’m on TMO. Also, if OP has Apple Card, they can make the purchase and attempt To chat GS and have the full amount converted to monthly payments.

We left ATT earlier this year, for Spectrum Mobile. I’ve read though if you select T-Mobile since a major carrier is required now, that no account or number confirm is needed and will allow any esim activation to any carrier, where if you select ATT that is locked to the carrier

Ordered through Apple but selected T-Mobile as my carrier and during setup selected set up cellar later. Then activated E-Sim through my carrier. Was hoping it would work as my wife had the 13 Pro for 3 years, so wanted to upgrade her.

Now I know how to get around it when I preorder the 16 PM in 2 weeks 🙂

Was this iUP or financed with Apple Card?
