Nonsense, it is common knowledge that porn keywords are the top search terms online. They obviously don't report on that.

I'm actually surprised the most searched thing on yahoo isn't google.

Guys and gals.. its only a rumor. Its on this site after all :p

I am betting the most searched term was really Nigh-Nigh-Nigh as in 9-9-9 aka Herman Cain

"I Pad" is a porn keyword.

Just curious... how many people actually use Yahoo (and actually, what demographics use Yahoo?)

Personally, I use Google, and everyone I know uses Google... I know that Yahoo and Bing are out there, but who actually uses them?

I use Yahoo for News and Sports. I use Google for actual searching. I assume some millions upon millions still use Yahoo.

Everyone I know who regularly uses Yahoo is 40+ years old and uses Internet Explorer. Of those, the ones who use Yahoo *search* are 55+ years old. "Old" people watch live TV and have no idea they can block ads online - looks like Apple's marketing department has that demographic under control.

You are forgetting one big hole that Apple is digging themselves into. Seeing old people buying Apple products is not a good sign as they are not the demographic that will upgrade to the latest version of that hardware every year. They buy a tablet and will likely stick with it till it breaks. So where is Apple's recurring revenue coming from. Apps ? Content ?

Haha lol imaf

Who would even search "iphone"? Those who don't know what it is?

Then again, it's on Yahoo.com. That's for people who like annoying pages, ads, Internet Explorer, and Blackberries.

Wow, we search for some stupid stuff. I can understand the iPhone, but who the #%@! is searching for Kim Kardashian that much? Oh well whatever. I wonder if porn searches were omitted from this list.

Porn searches would probably fill up the top ten lol

Truth is, old people have more money than young hipsters just out of college. They're an important demographic.

A lot of people use Bing, but usually only because it's the default on IE.

I'll bet "Google" is the top Bing search :D

Who would even search "iphone"? "iphone jailbreak" or "iphone market share" or "iphone 4s features" makes sense, but just "iphone"...what would you even be looking for?

Is this is as exciting as Apple's profits? Or the iPhone uploading the most pics to Flickr? Or how many hits the Apple Store site got on Black Friday? I'm confused.

2011 is over? When did this happen? I missed it again?!
FFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-

Just wait though, before 11:59:59 on December 31, 2011, Katy Perry and Kim Kardashian will get married, and Casey Anthony will again go on trail, this time for raising Osama bin Laden from the dead. Zombie Osama will bite and turn Jennifer Lopez and Lindsay Lohan into more zombies. Zombie bin Laden will then win American Idol, only to be killed *again* by Jennifer Aniston, all while another earthquake hits Japan. As a result, the iPhone will be the 10th most searched term on Yahoo in 2011.

So if that search includes the words 'loss of signal', 'quick draining battery', or 'exploding mid-flight' does that count?

Yup, I only hit up their news page.

Next there'll be reports about the search trends on AltaVista and Excite!

Hey! I still set excite.com as my default page on every browser that I use. Excite e-mail is also my mail e-mail account along side my mac.com account.

...though, I haven't used Excite for web searches in years.....they've long since stopped developing their own search engine.

That anyone would search for "Kim Kardashian" or most of the other celebrities on the list is proof of the dumbing down of America.
