My husbands phone started having problems with cell signal 3 days ago, today it won't get any signal at all. I went to Verizon and they changed the sim 40 min after it wasn't working again. He got it a year ago when they came out so Sept 16. Has anyone had this problem and gotten the phone replaced by apple?

Usually depends on the Apple rep. I've had phones replaced out of warranty. Take it in ASAP. The sooner the better.

I would try resetting network settings and see if this helps at all. Otherwise, it could be hardware related. Being the phone is out of warranty, I'm not sure how Apple handle for cost related factors.

It up to the store manager on these close warranty calls! Just present a good reason for him/her to do it for you! Loyalty and Apple fanboy is an automatic!

Replacing the phone is probably the last resort. A few things you can do:

• Reset settings as mentioned. This is the most likely culprit.
• Contact support through Apple.com, they can remote diagnose if it's hardware or software problem. Likely having you restore software or something. If they can't figure it out, then they'll recommend you take it into an Apple Store to diagnose.
• If and only after Genius bar at Apple Store determines it is faulty, they probably will repair your phone, maybe replacement if get lucky with good representative. Last I heard they're not doing replacements as much as they use to.

It could also be a bad sim card. Anyways, Genius bar will figure it out for you. You should schedule an appointment, they're usually booked days in advance. You probably won't be able to see someone just swinging by after work.
