iPhone reservation time?

How long do you have to pick up the iPhone after you put it on hold? If you pay for it before you pick it up, i'd assume a couple of days. But how many exactly?

Also, when have you had to wake up to put a reservation in for the iPhone 7 Plus? Early, i'd assume. Any experience?
