I gave my daughter my XR to replace her X. Both 64gb models and running 13.2 or whatever the latest version is. She backed up her X to her Mac and then restored to the XR which was completely reset. Once it finished the restore she said iCloud is finishing restoring and it is taking hours! I am not with her to try and help. She has tons of pictures but why wouldn't everything just be restored from the local backup and it be finished at that point?

Is she doing something wrong?

If pictures are stored in iCloud, they don't get backed up to the computer. An iCloud restore of a zillion pictures takes forever. Patience

Just curious why apple doesn’t have a way to do it phone to phone like Samsung switch?? If I don’t have a computer to do it with would I need to eventually pay for more iCloud space in order for everything to transfer to my new phone??
