Iphone 8GB o2 UK
Hi been on the phone to apple (through o2 number) regarding some reception problems that have come to light (see a preious thread for details) anyway the thing is that as i have only had the phone for just under 3 months i have requested that they replace the iphone rather than repair. the advisor stated that they probebly would not repair the phone but replace it, is this true or are they fobbing me off and if so is there anyway i could tell whether they had sent a replacement and NOT a repair/reconditioned model?
very important please reply ASAP

You are most likely to get a new model but if I'm not mistaken if you read the warranty they have the option to repair or replace and the replacement can be a refurbished model the decision is up to them, Apple has a pretty good track record of replacing with new products though.

just make sure you clean/disinfect your refurbished phone. no telling where the hands of its previous owner were. i worked in "reputable" store that dealt with selling refurbished units. their policy was just to: 1. do your best to get all the refurbished units out, and 2. just make sure it looks clean.

i bailed after our local oprah-wannabe sent in one of her minions to buy a product, then they used this infrared light thing and detected "fecal matter" on it!
