I have 2 iPhone 4 which are both connected to my Home Wifi Network with speed of 20mbps , router is a Time capsule 2tb. Now issue I have is 2 fold. One is that iPhone barely registers speeds on network of around 1mbps and that is being in same room as router. This issue has arisen recently , earlier I did not have any problem such a this.
I checked various times speeds on both phones and same issue.

Second issue is strange one. sometimes even though iPhone is showing connected to my home Wifi but still it won`t connect to Internet unless I switch wifi on it off and then on.

Please help me find out why this is happening and whats the solution.

    (1) U may have recently changed SSID and that's confusing the phones, see if there is a setting on your phones to remove the old SSID entry.

    (2) Is there is way to look at your router signal strength and noise? This can be easily accomplished with a laptop. A new neighbor may had just moved in and is using the same WIFI channel as you are.

I solved the issue by changing Channel on my Time Capsule. It was set on Automatic and was being on 6 which every other nearby 2.4ghz network was also so I switched it to channel 1, which works good so far.

One would think automatic = change accordingly to surroundings but it seems this automation is not that smart. ;)
