Have an iphone and whenever I use it outside or it gets dirty, I always use some 70% alcohol on it with a paper towel. Or I use those other wipes for it.

I heard about phone sanitizers like phonesoap. Do these work and are these better? Seems nice you just put your phone there a bit and it sanitizes it and that is all? Reviews seem really mixed. Some cheaper phone sanitizers are not as good? I check amazon site and there are several.

Repeatedly applying alcohol to the screen will degrade the oleophobic coating (not that they’re very good anyway, but whatever…). I find that cleaning with a dry microfiber cloth is good enough most of the time, otherwise a cleaning spray like Whoosh when needed.

UV sanitizer boxes like the Phonesoap purport to kill bacteria or viruses but they won’t do anything about dirt, dust, etc. I guess it’s a question of what exactly you’re looking to protect against.

If you’re going to go to the trouble of trying to sanitize your phone, don’t forget to sanitize every door knob you touch and anything you touch in your car. Don’t forget to sanitize all your silverware too.
The number one transmitting vector for germs to infect you is from touching your face. Don’t do that.
And whatever you do, never floss your teeth. That’s a sure way of getting sick — sticking your fingers in your mouth.

Want a guaranteed way to get sick? Open a public door - then floss your teeth without disinfecting your hands.

Apple actually specifies using 70% alcohol to clean/sanitize iPhone/iPad screens... Yes it will eventually remove the coating but so does daily use. The coating isn't permanent..

I just use some cheap kitchen surface disinfectant spray (Waitrose / Dettol) and a microfibre cloth.

I’ve got 4 cats. There is no point in cleaning anything. Made the mistake of showing cats watching birds & cats watching mice on Youtube. Ipads and iPhone have numerous repeated cat nose marks.

5yr, 7 month old leather IPP cover looks like it has been through a war. Cats trying to get throuh to invisible mice and birds.

Only cleaning every jas been with a microfibre cloth.

Should add that after I’ve been playing Civilization VI, it gets toasty and the cats love to curl up on it.

I have an esr screen protector and when I lift weights at the gym I use alcohol wipes on my 13 mini screen and case. No issues. Why cause makes me feel better lol.

I clean my iPhone with some window spray and a glass cloth. It comes up nice.
