You are aware that someone might actually follow your tip and use acetoneto polish their iPhone which would damage the screen 100%. Are you doing this on purpose?
Anyway, I found that it's not a problem cleaning the screen, but to keep it clean for as long as you can. For example if you wash your hands and blow dry them nicely, you will notice that no matter how much you touch the screen, there will be no finger marks at all. After 10 minutes or so, your hand has produced enough sweat (not noticeable) which will leave marks on the screen. The best solution is to wipe your finger against your jeans or trousers just before touching the screen. Also, don't let anyone touch your iPhone, You never know where their hands have been![]()
Sorry I didn't mean to mislead anyone, I actually do use acetone. I don't do it every time I clean the screen but when I'm in the lab it's convenient and works well. I don't squirt the acetone right onto the screen, I squirt it on the Kimwipe first and wipe it down. I have the Ipod Touch not the iPhone, but I think the screens are the same and they are glass, which shouldn't be harmed by acetone. I certainly wouldn't use it on a regular iPod though, they have plastic screens. Have you actually heard of someone's iPhone screen being damaged by acetone?
Edit: Don't try this, I don't want to be responsible for anyone's iPhone getting messed up, but mine is still okay.
