You are aware that someone might actually follow your tip and use acetone:eek: to polish their iPhone which would damage the screen 100%. Are you doing this on purpose?

Anyway, I found that it's not a problem cleaning the screen, but to keep it clean for as long as you can. For example if you wash your hands and blow dry them nicely, you will notice that no matter how much you touch the screen, there will be no finger marks at all. After 10 minutes or so, your hand has produced enough sweat (not noticeable) which will leave marks on the screen. The best solution is to wipe your finger against your jeans or trousers just before touching the screen. Also, don't let anyone touch your iPhone, You never know where their hands have been :)

Sorry I didn't mean to mislead anyone, I actually do use acetone. I don't do it every time I clean the screen but when I'm in the lab it's convenient and works well. I don't squirt the acetone right onto the screen, I squirt it on the Kimwipe first and wipe it down. I have the Ipod Touch not the iPhone, but I think the screens are the same and they are glass, which shouldn't be harmed by acetone. I certainly wouldn't use it on a regular iPod though, they have plastic screens. Have you actually heard of someone's iPhone screen being damaged by acetone? I would certainly stop using it if I found out it was hurting the screen.

Edit: Don't try this, I don't want to be responsible for anyone's iPhone getting messed up, but mine is still okay.

Eyeglass cleaner

I use the small eyeglass cleaner wipes to keep mine shiny and happy. I get a big box of them at BJs, a wholesale club. Wipe the iPhone first, then wipe the MBP screen.

It is all about Microfiber lens cloths

It isn't just about the Iphone, how about every electronic device, eye glasses, cameras and more. I use to take the microfiber cloths and cut them into 2 inch by 3" pieces and stick them all over. I have a skin on my new Iphone and I hide a cloth behind it and now every friend I have does the same thing. I have one in my computer bag, in the car, in jacket pockets, next to the bed and more. When you break them down to this size you can throw them away instead of washing them.

I started a business called Z-cloth. You can buy them in 12 packs and 6 packs in cool packaging......I'm sold out, but more are on the way check out the site and let me know if you agree it is a good answer, love to hear your input.....

I usually carry a 2 inch cut out square of micro fiber. I hate fingerprints and smudges and grease and I don't use screen protectors anymore for the past 2 months and my screens flawless I handle with care and the screen itself is actually very scratch resistant sonnot really bothersome at all to not have a screen protector. Anywho, the little micro fiber cut out works great. The apple cloth you get with your phone works well also just takes a little more effort.

I must be stupid, but I never got a cloth with my iPhone? I've had an iPhone 4 and a 5 direct from Apple SIM-Free and never got a cloth?

I choose the cloth which is used to wipe the eyeglasses or camera lenses. It works excellent. :p
