I think the first image is screen, the second image is device.

The 8 plus is physically 6.24" long whereas the X is 5.65" long.
The 8 plus screen is 5.5" measured diagonal whereas the X is 5.8"

Maybe the second post is physical size, which would seem to be correct. And now I see others saying the same thing. I'll still post given the measurements I typed above may help.

It's crazy how much screen you get with X compared to 8 plus considering how much smaller X is. Bye by useless top and bottom bezels! Thank you Apple...it's about time. 😉

And why's that? While the X's screen is slightly bigger (diagonally the size of the X is 5.8" verses 5.5" for the IP8+), the overhang of the Plus makes it LONGER and WIDER.
