Hello,

I’ve had my new iPhone SE 2020 for about 2 1/2 weeks now. I’m really enjoying it. However, I’ve noticed when I’m charging my phone via the lightning connector using an Apple charger or an off brand charger purchased from Target, the phone occasionally makes this strange “power surge” sound. This appears to happen when I’m simultaneously using the phone (i.e. reading an article) while it is charging.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions on how to correct this are welcome. Thank you!

Power surge sound? Wha like coming from the charger brick? Is it like a sound emitted by the speaker or the electronics inside the device? If you can catch it I'd love to hear a recording of this; If it's from the electronics I'd consider trying to RMA it

Thanks for the quick response casperes1996. It sounds like it’s coming from the speaker or the device itself. Unfortunately, it’s not a consistent sound and only happens occasionally.

Check your electricity connection for earth/ ground. Then, try with different cable and same charger. Then, with different charger and same cable. Then, with different charger and different cable. Should help isolate.

Thank you for the suggestions. I suspect it is my cable. I'll try these suggestions to see if I can confirm the issue.
