Over the past week, I have noticed the battery on my SE has drained relatively faster than what I was generally used to experiencing when I first bought the phone almost a month ago. In settings, under battery I noticed that Spotify and Mail apps have been using about 30% each of background activity. I proceeded to turn background refresh off, but that does not seem to help. I did a hard reset on the phone as well, but again no progress was made.

The phone is draining at approximately 10% a hour. There has been no change in usage from when I originally purchased the phone. The issue began when I had iOS 10.0.2 installed and continues today with iOS 10.1.1.

I take what this app says with a grain of salt, but I downloaded the battery life app and it's telling me that the wear level on the batter is "almost die." I generally don't use this app, so I don't know how accurate it is.

I tentatively have a Genius appointment scheduled for next Saturday. Other than doing a clean iOS install, is there anything else I can try?

If you have a Mac try Coconutbattery. It is extremely accurate. It is possible your battery has failed. You can delete your mail accounts and re-add them if that is the primary reason for battery drain. Have you noticed different single strength in places you usually frequent? Low service can drastically reduce battery life. Maybe your nearby cellular towers are acting up.

I appreciate the reply. My fiancée and I do get pretty low signal strength at home (both AT&T), so I'm sure that is probably the culprit. I'm at work now and I get a better signal, so I'm experiencing better battery life now.

I went ahead and canceled my Genius appointment since I feel that I'm overthinking things.
