Yes OP the camera is the same. Don't listen to people trying to force their opinions down your throat to justify what phone they have. Statements like "better design" are opinions, not fact. The camera is great on both phones as it is the same...that's what you asked.

Less features = downgrade
Not if you're coming from a phone with even less features, or a slower phone.

why is it, that, here on this forum that most of the time bigger is better? Is this typical American?

someone (OP) is asking a serious question and often in 2 days it ends up in a bigger = better discussion
Everyone has to compensate for something. That's why I got the SE.

Thanks everyone for your feedback!

Why i asked if the cameras are same because a few weeks back there was an article on 9to5mac which had a camera comparison between the two and the SE pics looked better actually.

I see some people say the SE is a downgrade but for me its not because I like the SE size and the old 5S design. I rarely use force touch and i never use the front cam.

SE isn't released officially in my country, so i'll wait for that and see the price comparison.

Good photos. I don't like how the dark ones don't show light like in android. Otherwise good.

Nice! Did you zoom when you took these pictures? Alot of visible noise.
I'm sorry, but these are horrible quality photos. If you think these are good for a phone, you need to look at photos taken by the G4/G5, S6/S7, or even Nexus 5X/6P, they are miles ahead.

The first photo is so blown out the sky is blowing out part of the building as well, the second photo has half the sky blown out while the building is severely underexposed, and the third photo has lots of noise and noise reduction leading to little detail. Not trying to be hard on you OP, the angle of the shots is fine, it's just the camera/processing in these 3 samples are horrible.

My G4 was 1.5 years old, and these low light photos are so much better IMO:

I would go for the SE. Smaller, lighter, cheaper, better looking etc

It's not the flagship though
