How do I make sure that I keep my att unlimited plan when I purchase the SE, does anyone know?

question for those who are paying off the phone at order (not financing): are you getting the SIM-free model or a carrier branded phone?
I purchased a sim free since I'm not on contract with att and certainly don't want to deal with the next program.

I got the SIM-free. Ordered 64GB space gray earlier this morning. April 1-5 ship.

Now I have a 5c, the contract is over so i'm month to month on AT&T. I hope AT&T will just give me the nano-SIM and charge me $15 to activate or whatever when I take the SE over to a town where there's a corporate store.

I didn't want to upgrade via the NEXT plan because whenever I finally do that I lose the 15% discount I have on my plan right now. As far as I know from talking to them earlier, if I bring a fully bought phone to my plan, my bill doesn't change and I still get the 15% discount on the plan because they hope I'll upgrade to a NEXT plan in future.

But if that's not going to be the case and they want to charge something different on the monthly bill, my next stop will be Verizon and AT&T can keep their nano-sim and I'll port my phone number to some VZN plan. Makes no difference to me since I live in a dead zone anyway and my data plan is nothing special, just that thing with 2GB and a rollever over up to 4GB.

I want to keep the 5c as a WiFi device for awhile. I have to make sure that works out okay, having it as a formerly AT&T phone with the old sim in it, and having the new phone on VZN if AT&T hassles me over just swapping a new phone into my plan month to month and not changing the bill past an activation. There's always some issue when I switch stuff around that I never think of ahead of time, no matter what I ask up front, and I don't really love discovering the gotchas after the fact. Oh well. First world problem.

Mine also showing as Preparing for Dispatch :D
Same here in France, SE 64GB Rose Gold, it says that the order can't be cancelled or modified. I'm so excited, first time ever I bought an Apple product on launch day and from Apple. Other times I bought all my products used from different sources. :D

By the way, right now I'm using an iPhone 5 (waiting for my 6s to be sold) and damn I missed the 4" display, it's so comfortable, I feel right at home with this size ! :)

This is my first launch day ordered direct from Apple order lol, I either buy "A Grade" used or buy new from elsewhere, usually a month or 2 after launch though.

I randomly woke up at 4:30AM and ordered the SE and the iPad. Was planning on ordering them this morning.

Received confirmation emails on both in < 10 minutes.

I always call ATT when activating to ensure my plan stays the same.

Ordered 64gb Rose Gold through T-Mobile. Ships by 3/30 with overnight shipping.

I appreciate this time around they only offered one shipping option. Last year it made it confusing with different options even though they were all launch day delivery.

I ordered from Apple and it said I wasn't eligible to upgrade as I'm still under contract (which is my unlimited) then Apple said I can still purchase the phone full price but my contract still stands. Since the SIM cards are the same in the 6s, I'll just swap my unlimited sim to the SE.

Unless I'm misunderstanding what you're saying, all you need to do is just pop the SIM card from your 5c to SE. No need to activate.

Right but remember do not turn on the SE until after you swap the SIM card.

I thought a different type of SIM was required. ?

Also I think i still need a SIM in the old phone even to make it work as WiFi.

They use the exact size SIM cards.

The WiFi will work fine without a sim card.

Thank you all for your help. For once it sounds like hassle-free gig. I'm happy to have that 4" option. I was thinking when the 5c croaked I might have to go back to just using a dumb phone for calls and an iPad mini for data.

I tried to order an hour after TMO had orders available (8am EST) and they only had 16gb left for launch day. I'll try showing up at a TMO store on launch and picking one up there.

I just ordered a Space Grey 64gb from TMobile. I had several issues with the website so I ended up calling and they were able to do it for me. They told me it was on back order so I'm just in the dark on when I will get it.

I was going to trade in my 6 Plus but I've decided to just keep it (going from 5.5" to 4" is drastic). But I loooved my 5S before I traded in for a 6 Plus so I know I wouldn't regret it anyway.

I'd be surprised if you have much of an additional wait.

45 posts in the "order thread" at this time tells me it shouldn't be backed up much, if at all.

Really curious to see the breakdown between 16GB and 64GB sales number.

If early reports are correct in suggesting that it will do better in Western markets than emerging markets - then perhaps people would opt for the larger model. Off setting the $399 profit.

Upgrading SO iPhone 5c to 5SE through Verizon. 64GB Space Gray. Trading in his 5c for like, $120 (better than nothing). Says will be Delivered by 3/31. Will have to wait and see.
