Hello everyone,
does anyone know what model usa of iPhone SE works with italian networks?
I have a relative who lives in the United States, so I'd rather buy it there to save (here in Italy the price is higher) but mainly to avoid volume limit imposed on iPhones sold in the European Union. Thank you

JohnLuke, the phone will most likely work, but if you ever need to get it repaired/replaced under Apple Care, you'll have to send it to your relative and he/she will need to deliver it to Apple. Apple will not accept an American iPhone in Europe, nor will it accept a shipment from outside of US.

Really? I thought the only difference was only have one year warranty (us) compared with 2 years warranty that we here in Europe. So I couldn't even care for the first year?

The warranty is not worldwide on iphone and ipad's so you won't get any warranty coverage at all except if you send your iphone back to your relative in the US which makes it less profitable in case of problem.

It also seems that the sprint version is not unlocked for international sim cards (correct me if I'm wrong), so you'll have to get a sim-free version and the US sim-free iphone is not fully compatible for European LTE

Your are correct on the warranty comments. The iPhone warranty / Apple Care is region dependent. Check here http://www.apple.com/legal/sales-support/applecare/applecareplus/ for more information.

You are incorrect concerning the Sprint model purchased from the Apple, if you pay full price, the device is not carrier locked. Please see quote below from the Apple.

Both unlocked and locked iPhone models are available from apple.com. Most models are “unlocked” — which means your iPhone isn’t tied to a single carrier. Your iPhone will be locked to your carrier when selecting a 2-year contract or carrier financing from AT&T or Sprint.

Thank you for the information.

It makes me wonder if i should get the sprint version. I am on AT&T but spend time in Europe as well so I was thinking to get it there but if the Sprint version comes unlocked I could replace my 5 right away without having to wait for my next trip to Europe.

Does anyone know if there is a difference between the A1723 gsm and the A1723 CDMA model?

Thanks
