I was going to add one of their packages though, not a pay as you go choice.
 
Hey guys I am trying to unlock my iphone...Right now I am trying to transfer the anysim application thru cyberdock but I get an error saying connection failed..I have also tried using independence but I still get the same error...do you know what could be happening?

Their packages are for $5 for 5mb and $10 for 10mb. You'll probably burn that up in 1 visit to youtube. Don't give those jerks your money or they'll never lower the price.
 
Can I do this . .if so, what approach

I have read the pages/wiki etc about unlocking and IPhone to activate it (no non-att sim) and how to unlock it (use with any sim). My question is can I have a phone that does both? Here is the scenario:

1. I want to use the IPhone as an IPod/wifi device.
2. Occasionally I would like to put in my T-Mobile SIM from my work phone for use as a phone/edge browser (on the weekends for example).
3. Do both without having to reset/install/etc the hacks. So, when I want to use it as a phone, pop in my TMob sim, otherwise have no sim or the existing one for use as an IPod/wifi device.

All guidance appreciated!

Activate and unlock the phone and yes, you can use it for both.

I'll mainly use it for email...assuming I can get it set up. Most internet I'll leave for wi-fi....and I don't waste valuable time on YouTube!
 
Hey guys,

I'm having a weird problem after unlocking that the phone seems to work with all gsm providers BUT att / cingular.

Procedure followed:
- left att iphone card in the phone
- connect to itunes once
- closed itunes and Jailbreak using wINstaller
- Confirmed that it's 1.0.2 firmware
- Used Ibrickr to overwrite lockdownd in /usr/libexec then restarted phone
- Removed ATT Sim card
- Installed Installer (through AppTapp)
- Installed Unlock.app GUI via wINstaller
- Ran Installer over wifi and downloaded BSD
- Ran Unlock.app

T-mobile works but my Cingular 3g sim card gets no signal.


Did anyone running windows successfully unlock a phone to work with Cingular? If so can you please please post the exact proceedure, including if you left the sim card in and which , etc.

Is it a new or old cingular SIM? It has to be the cingular SIM with the 3G logo on it. If you have an old SIM card go to the AT&T store and say you lost your SIM and you want to buy a new one and have the account put on it. A new SIM card costs $20.

The SIM should work then. Turn the phone off, change SIMs, turn the phone back on. How long are you waiting and it's not getting a signal?
 
Unlock so I do not need to activate Sim using MAC

What is the best method to use. I want to unlock so I do not need to active each time I change the sim. I am using the mac.
 
I'm with Pugnut also...With all these different ways to unlock the iPhone, what method or steps seem to work best with unlocking the phone for the first time for use with a tmobile sim? I should be receiving my 4gb phone in the mail tomorrow, so I'm pretty excited about all this.

Tips anyone? I'm running OSX on a macbook....
 
Strange request, but how do I remove the anySIM icon from the Springboard? I've searched and it just returns results for uninstalling iTunes. I just want a clean, factory looking homescreen.

PC or Mac, whichever is easiest. :cool:

If it's an app, and your on a mac, ssh, then go into applications and delete.

If you use the guide on modmyiphone, you can put any sim card you want as many times as you want. I've unlocked about 20+ iphones over the last couple of days (for a fee of course ;)) and i've put in many different sims to test the phones and it works great.
 
With the release of the next firmware imminent, I have a question about the unlocking process:

I've downloaded the current firmware to my computer. After this new firmware is launched tomorrow, or whenever, will I still be able to upload the firmware I have downloaded to my computer to the iPhone so I can unlock it? I don't care about any of the new features...
