Just curious, I added a mapview on my view controller and "shows user location" was set. However the location shown in the simulator doesn't reflect the actual position I'm at.

Ques 1. Is the simulator capable of showing user's location ?

Ques 2. If not, is there a way I can manually adjust the user's location shown in my simulator?

Thanks in advance! :)

Apparently this is supposed to work. It's based on Location Services in Snow Leopard wifi and maybe on Skyhook.

There are some posts on this on the Apple iPhone forum.

From my understanding they purchased a company and now handle this in house. I think they've dropped skyhook support.

One of the key limitations of developing Web applications for iPhone is that you are not allowed to access the hardware on the device via the Web browser. You cannot access the camera on the iPhone; neither can you access the accelerometer. This seriously limits the kinds of applications you can develop on the iPhone. One notable exception, however, is the support for tracking the location of devices, through a combination of GPS, Wi-Fi, and cellular triangulation.
