Can't seem to update and restore iOS 7.1.2 on a jailbroken iPhone (Pangu 7.1-7.1x Untether). Status of downloads update would reach 1/3, sometimes even 2/3, and then simply stop and give an Error -3256. iPhone had various issues earlier today so I used iLex Rat, but currently have issues with the App Store and some tweaks still remained.

+"Error 3000-3999: (3002, 3004, 3013, 3014, 3164, 3194, and so on) Error codes in the 3000 range generally mean that iTunes cannot contact the gs.apple.com server on ports 80 or 443. This may be because out-of-date or incorrectly configured security or firewall software is interfering, an entry in your hosts file redirecting requests to gs.apple.com, or due to your Internet proxy settings. If you are using a proxy, try without using one or with a known-good network. If that does not resolve the issue, follow iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting security software issues. Error 3014 may indicate that you need to free up more disk space on the computer before trying to restore again."+

It sounds like a internet issue.

What type of Wifi are you downloading this on? (School, Personal, Work). A Filter might be blocking iTunes.

Did a normal restore after a simple fix with the firewall. Thanks for the help.

It was definitely an internet issue. For some weird reason, the firewall was blocking incoming connections to iTunes. A quick fix in Security & Privacy --> Firewall --> Firewall Options --> +/- --> iTunes - did the trick. This never happened to me before with iTunes but I guess it's another new experience.

    Thanks for the help.
