Iphone speakers

The Iphone has two speakers. Are they supposed to have equal volume? I can barely hear one. My Iphone is a 3G, purchased in late November. Thanks 🙂

The second speaker was disabled in late November with the update of 2.1. Are you running 2.1 or later?

Left speaker if the screen is facing you = speaker
Right is the microphone.
