i was recording a video and it stopped recording on its own at 43 mins, I checked to see if I ran out of storage but had 4.37gb of storage left, so enough to continue recording, why would it stop recording on its own when there was enough storage left, I never received any notifications while recording.

These things aren't perfect. They have glitches. I bet if you did a test recording again for an hour it wouldn't happen. In the future, put the phone in Airplane mode if you're planning on recording a long unattended video (just to be sure)
I don’t have a file limit and I tried recording another video for 43 mins and it never stopped recording, this is weird, I would love to know why this happened
Have you tried recording some more after that to see if there truly isn't a storage issue (despite what it might be reporting as numbers)? A few of my iOS devices start giving me low storage warnings when they still have a little over 4 GB of space left.
