Hi,

When my iPhone 5 was charging last night it randomly put itself on the apple logo booting screen. I tried resetting it (Sleep + Home button). It restarted but was still stuck on the booting screen. I then tried to put it in DFU mode, connected to my mac (3 sec. Sleep, 10 sec. Sleep/Home, 10 sec. home-button). I tried different variations but only this one (partly) worked. The screen turned black but iTunes still didn't recognize the device. I haven't jailbroken it and it was on iOS 8.4.

After a lot of tries iTunes finally recognized the iPhone, but now I'm stuck on 'Waiting for iPhone'. After 10 minutes it gives an unknown error '4005' each time.

Try dfu restore mode on another computer with the latest itunes installed.
If it still gives you errors and won't restore its most likely a hardware issue with the phone.

Thanks for your reply. I've tried different USB cables and three different computers. Seeing that 'error 4005' is a USB connection failure, do you think the dock connecter is broken? Or is it probably something else?
