iPhone switch on vibrate will watch also not make noise?

Does the watch mirror the iPhone's silent button action. If I have to go in a quick meeting I don't want my watch going off if phone is on vibrate

in the apple watch app there are individual app settings. they seem to mirror the phone by default. go check it out
