iPhone to external flash.

I'm curious if anyone makes a piece of hardware (due to the sometimes high trigger voltages) for external flashes?

My idea is that some of these photography apps would benefit from triggering flashes off camera, light metering apps especially could be used by pro photogs for portraiture.
