i can’t remember a single time where the “production issue might delay release” rumors ever materialized since the pandemic.

It helps to feed the inevitable "supply constrained! you better PRE-ORDER and BUY NOW!!!!!!" stories, which are also usually bunk.

The consumerist mind manipulation online and in advertising across platforms is incredibly pervasive & insidious.

yes, i guess it’s automatic clicks on tech media reporting too.

Don’t forget the “Apple is limiting product to generate hysteria!” posts as well.

I'm thinking an upcoming OLED iPad mini paired with a standard iPhone is how I'll play it. Cheaper than an Ultra, and I can leave the mini at home or at the hotel when I'm in situations where I'd prefer a smaller (and in the case of potential theft - cheaper) device. But I am exited to see what Apple does with this.

I’m going to see how it looks when released. The leaked dummies look weird to me. I really don’t want to be carrying a folded iPad in my pocket.
If it is like what Samsung and other foldables are doing it is no thicker then the iPhone now. So if you could have your iPhone now, same size and weight, but it unfolds ALSO into a larger display the real question is why would you NOT want that? Literally no loss in how you operate now, only a gain of a larger workspace.

MacRumors really chose to be that guy today with the title. Let's simplify that, kiddos.

iPhone Ultra Reportedly in Mass Production, No Delay Envisaged Expected.

Since you keep your phones a long time I don't think a folding phone is the best route for you. They have a history of fairly short life spans (two years or less before major hardware failure). Even if Apple does something amazing to get them more reliable, would best case scenario of 2.5 or 3 years if your lucky be good enough for you?
My brother has had the Samsung Flip for years with no issues.

Literally every few days you flip flop on this, Yesterday you reported it was slipping till at least October. Stick to one story already lol

The nature of rumors is that they come from a variety of sources and therefore aren't always consistent. The job of sifting through all of that to find and report on the more reliable rumors is likely far more frustrating for our hosts than it is for you.

I just hope this is the correct one, I for one am VERY excited to pre order this and HOPE to get on launch day.

Ultra is a dumb name. I hate this marketing crap. give my an identifier that references a function of the device, not the status it wants to convince you you are buying. I hate marketing people.

Won't even consider an Ultra without Telephoto lens. Probably use that lens almost half the time. Doesn't seem "Ultra" with lesser camera options. If anything, it should have a better camera setup!

Those same marketing people need to come up with what is beyond Ultra. They kind of hit the nominative peak already and we have like 20 more years of iPhones to go until we all get SpaceX implants.

Today's current foldables are more durable than people think and I'm sure with all the generations ahead of Apple if they did their homework correctly it's going to thrive as dependable. I always get insurance on them as a fallback but never once have I had to put in a claim and I don't baby any of them.

This is exactly why the 18PM is the route I will take. I always go with the PM for the camera (and size).
