Hi. We got our daughter an Apple refurbished iPhone 8 to upgrade from her iPhone 7. I have been unable to restore the new phone from a backup of her old phone. I keep getting an error stating "iTunes could not restore the iPhone because an error occurred". I don’t think the new phone is the problem because it will restore from an old backup of an iPhone 6. The iPhone 7 also too a VERY long time to be backed up. My daughter has also said her phone seems a bit "quirky". Does anyone have any ideas?

Strange, I also had the same problem and error message when I tried restoring a back up from my X to Xs Max. I just couldn't figure it out but luckily everything transferred over from my Verizon Cloud. Hope you can figure it out on your end.

Have you double-checked the backup size and iOS version? It should be at least the same on 8 as it is on 7.
