Upgrade yearly: the cost of buying a coffee every day of the week.

Upgrade every two years: the cost of “almost” a coffee every day of the week.

Upgrade every three years: the cost of a coffee six days a week.

Upgrade every four years: the cost of a coffee five days a week.

While the cost is negligible from a grand scheme of things, I don’t feel much improvement year over year beyond the initial 10 minutes of excitement and the hours of frustration setting up the phone again.

Upgrading every year costs me $0.41 a day. Where are you getting coffee for that price?

This is an answer that only you can answer. I myself have been on the iPhone Upgrade Program existed. I enjoy it and can afford it. (only added that last sentence for the inevitable "it's a waste of money" comments)

I absolutely respect people who keep their phones even half that long. It is something I'm striving to do with my 15 PM. It still has 103% battery health and does everything I need. Why upgrade? Keep posting - helps people like me be better :D
Yeah like tbh we've pretty much hit peak maturity. Computational limit. I would argue even the 13pro could last you a decade if you opened one new today. There was nothing wrong with my Xs max when I upgraded. I just had smaller storage - 64gb Eesh lol. Oh and the comms kinda sucked, they used a different lte chip or something in that model so it was always looking for a signal

But I mean storage was the only upgrade factor. I still use the Xs today as a camera feed with Alfred camera. I pick it up mess around on it and it's just perfectly fine. One of our kids might even have it as their first phone in a year or so.

The new phones are always cool to see and I'm sure there'll be SOME new nonsense that makes me think hmm maybe I could just upgrade lol but as a phone this one works amazingly.

Any opinions on making the most of resale right now vs keeping it long enough where you are pretty much paying the entire amount out of pocket?
Sorry I missed this. I don't sell my used tech, like ever. It gets re purposed or given to family. So it's never a factor when I buy anything.

iPhone Upgrade Dilemma: Every Year or Every Few?

Prior to Apple’s announcement I didn’t really think there’d be any reason to upgrade our two iPhone13minis to iPhone17anythings. AFTER Tim’s discussion, we’re convinced there’s no reason to upgrade at this time.
