Carrier iPhone Upgrade Program- Mint Mobile

Hi All,

Thinking of doing the iPhone Upgrade program and getting an Iphone 16 Max pro. Currently I am on T-Mobile which isn't an issue, but I was thinking of driving down to Delaware to purchase the phone and was wondering if I can do the iPhone Upgrade Program while on Mint? I know of some work arounds if you do the iPhone upgrade program online but will those work at the store? or is it better for me to be T-Mobile for the upgrade program and then switch over to Mint?

Upgrade first and then switch. But then you'll have to be back on one of the Big 3 next year for the next upgrade. It's a requirement to use a major post-paid carrier.

Definitely upgrade via TMO, then switch to Mint afterwards. The issue you’ll run into next year if you want to upgrade to the 17. There is known workaround for those with the Apple Card where you purchase an iPhone online and select T-Mobile as the provider, but then when you get the device you can bypass and activate on your MVNO. If you Google it, you’ll come across that workaround. But for the IUP, I don’t believe there are workarounds.
