i was up at 3am EST and went to order thru apple upgrade program for iPhone 7+ black and there was no stock at all. I check 4 apple stores to reserve and nothing. I decided not to order and wait till after launch. Did this deter anyone else on the program from ordering?

A lot of people have been due to this issue. And a lot of people are annoyed because the whole point of them being in the program is so that they could upgrade straight away instead of having to wait.

I think what apple need to do next time is to ramp up production and then have phones aside for those already in the program so that they can get their upgrades quicker. I am not saying that the other people who buy the phones outright should not get a chance to buy or anything i am just saying that apple needs to make sure they have enough devices in general so that it does not upset those on the program and those still waiting and trying to get on the program.

I agree... I'm not saying the IUP has preference but atleast make it even where all can be given the chance. To have nothing available right at launch or even 5 minutes into it is not right.... In my opinion of course

It's annoying because you'll actually pay 13 months if you get it on release day or after. If there's any delay you could be making 14 payments. All to Apple's benefits.

I don't think Apple has any incentive to set devices aside for current IUP customers since they're likely going to get a new iPhone anyway. More so they will want to bring in new customers.

Apple screwed the existing Apple Upgrade Customers. We can't preorder online and there is no reservation waiting list available at the stores. All we can do is to checkback on the 17th. This is not right. In my opinion they did it deliberately. That way you will make your September lease payment on your old Iphone and they will have to credit less towards the repayment of your old phone to Citizen's Bank. My payment is due on 9/25 (I was one of the first who got Apple Upgrade Program last year on the release day). Also if you are still unsuccessful in securing the new IPhone by October..., you will have to make one more payment to Citizen's Bank. Apple has no incentive to make it easier for the Customers who have Apple Upgrade Program in place. Keep making your payments and we will take your phone in November..... That's 3 additional $$$ payments that you will have to make under the old phone contract to Citizen's and 3 less for us to repay your old phone before we give you a new one.

Saw this post in another thread. And it is plausible and quite annoying if its true.

Wonder if everyone who went through the “pre-approval” process yesterday was deliberately put on a list to NOT get a phone on launch day just so Apple can collect a few more payments. And only the new IUP customers will have a chance to get one from the limited launch inventory. #deliberatedelaygate
