Carrier iPhone upgrade program on AT&T family plan

Hello. So I am looking to do the iPhone upgrade program to get a iPhone max on launch. I was trying to do the pre approval process for getting qualified on it; I’m part of an AT&T family plan and not the owner. When I used my number and put in my last 4 of social it told me the information was wrong. Do I need to have the info of the main account holder here? I’m confused on what I need to do

Nope. Each person should be able to do it. Last time my wife ordered hers on her own on our family plan.

Can you actually save on them again like the old days? I thought that went away...

We’ll I tried my usual billing zip code and my last 4 of social and it didn’t work. I don’t think I ever gave AT&T my last 4 of my social since I’m not the main account holder
