Did anyone need to lift a credit freeze? I've used the IUP for years, just wondering if I need to unfreeze before submitting my re-application.

EDIT: I went ahead and tried without lifting any freeze, it went through fine.
I lifted my freeze. I don’t think it’s necessary though.

I think the first year I left the freeze on there was a glitch in ordering. I’m almost certain it was an Apple issue, but that leaves just enough uncertainty in my mind that I feel the need to lift the freeze. 🙄🤭

Anyone know how to choose AppleCare One instead of AppleCare +? It's saving me ~ $144 over 2 years. I believe I can just trade in my existing phone which is still in the iPhone Upgrade Program in order to choose AppleCare One. However, I would like to use the Upgrade Program is that's possible.
When AppleCare One started I was on the phone with Apple for 3 consecutive days and over a dozen reps. The final rep was a senior person working in AppleCare who told me when you are in IUP the AppleCare cannot be unbundled from IUP unless you pay off the iPhone which defeats the purpose.
So you cannot use AppleCare One for IUP.

If you or anyone else has more recent information please let all of us know.

It is doable now.

Apple spokesperson Anna Mitchell told me that iPhone Upgrade Program subscribers can contact Apple Support and unbundle their coverage from the iPhone financing, then upgrade to AppleCare One. Keep in mind that AppleCare One is only available in the U.S. at present, and requires a U.S.-based Apple Account in good standing.

Thanks. I read that article before I talked to Apple. They said it wasn’t true. I even told them the name of the Apple employee quoted in the article. So unless someone tells me they personally were able to move their iPhone to AppleCare One while staying on iPhone Upgrade Program, I’m not believing any article.

I did everything for the preorder (Orange PM 2TB) but this is my first time with the iPhone upgrade program, if the pre approval went through, does that mean I was approved for the program?
I got this in my email. My first time doing IUP. Took less than 2 minutes.

I was too when I first read it. The reps all really tried to find an answer but clearly they weren’t trained for this question. The last person seemed to be the final answer given they were in the AppleCare One department.

I was holding out hope that the pre-order would recognize I’m in AppleCare One and prompt me to add my new iPhone to it. But alas, no.

Did it make you start over? This is my 4th year and it’s literally asking me to complete an entire new application it seems. Maybe it’s the same as last year but i did not think it was, etc.

Ok, this makes me feel justified thinking it was weird. I've been in the program since it started and it felt like it was asking me for way more info this year.

It caused me a problem. :( Now that I did it again after removing it I'm waiting for them to approve my request.

Same for me. It asked about salary and mortgage. I’ve also been in the program since it started.
It worried me at first because it felt like they didn’t find my account but the confirmation email says it’s all fine.

Then I should be set, I decided to leave the ATT financing so as soon as I get the new one I’ll have to return the one I have right now but I think it’s a better option.
I love not being tied to a carrier and having an unlocked phone through the program. It's great.
