I tried to do a search for the answer to this (likely dumb) question and could not find anything.

I decided this go around to opt in for the iPhone upgrade program, despite that it forces you to buy Apple Care+ which is something I am not a huge fan of financially (especially since I am anal about my phones and have yet to break one - knock on wood).

I learned through this forum that you can actually get a refund on the Apple Care+ within 30 days of purchase if you haven't used it.

Does anyone know if you can have the Apple Care+ refunded if it was acquired through the iUp program??

No you would not receive a refund for it since you haven’t paid for it yet. The AppleCare cost is divided over 24 months- meaning you haven’t paid for the AppleCare in full until the full 2 years, which you will probably end up upgrading at 1 year anyway so you’ll only pay half of it.

I think there is a little confusion on your understanding of how AppleCare+ is used for the IUP program. First, AppleCare+ is not really for your protection but for Apple and Credit One.

No refund, you are making monthly payments for AppleCare+ so each month is 1/24 of the total AppleCare+ fee.
