Just curious if people still are using this as a means to upgrade every year? I am currently on the program but not sure if it is still worth it? See a ton of people finance on the Apple card then sell their device after upgrading. I do enjoy the payment for the upgrade program including the AppleCare+. I do kind of hate the hard credit pull every year as well. Hmmmm what say you macrumor upgrade every year peeps

I've been on the IUP for years and have only had a hard pull when I first applied. I haven't had one since. The iPhone is about the only Apple device that I upgrade annually, so I don't see myself coming off the IUP.

Interesting. I have gotten one each of the last 2 years

I joined IUP the first year it came out. I had a hard pull that year, and then on my fourth year. I plan to continue using IUP again this year. I rather risk the one pull than have my Apple Card utilization tied up, which is reported as carrying a balance. The IUP is not reported to credit bureaus besides the potential hard pull.

This is a nice point. Utilization vs a single hard pull. very nice point

Yeah I have great credit and I am definitely not getting a hard pull every year. Even if it is every couple of years that doesn't affect me.

Is there an advantage for using the iPhone upgrade program over Apple Card? Is it maybe cheaper? I’ve never done the iPhone upgrade program so I’m curious.

I used to use the IUP from Citizens, but after upgrading every year, it was a hassle.
Now I just use the Apple Card's 0% for 24 months and upgrade every other year.

This is the year I upgrade from 14+ to 16 Pro.

Plus I end up giving the phone to a family member or selling it myself.
