Anyone upgrading via the iPhone upgrade program who still has their 11th payment to make on 24th?

I got my 12 pro on release day last year but still have a payment to make due to them releasing later than normal.

No idea if I’ll still be able to reserve a phone on Friday to upgrade in store

Yes I have a feeling of being "conned" this year.

It took me a while to twig on why I'm being told to make an 11th payment and that we were a month late last year.

The "dilema" is that waiting a month to make that regular payment will presumably have a knock effect of the phone not being available at that time and so delaying the next swap and so on and never being able to get the new phone on release day.

Or take it on the chin now and pay the 11th payment which means the phone has cost more for the time you've had it. ?‍♂️

I think you can still reserve the phone though and this time just make the final payment in store and start a new agreement as usual.

we were definitely conned but whatever I am fine paying the 120 fee but what has me worried is that I can’t even see an option to preorder the phone, it just says to visit the store to order the phone and do the final payment…

I'm going to expect it will be doable on Friday and then when you are in the store you can sort out any final payments etc. I wish they made it clearer though.

For anyone interested. I rang Barclays as I only have to make 1 payment to be eligible for my upgrade.

But was told that even if I make the extra payment now they still collect the direct debit which is on 24th. So I’d be paying an extra months worth for nothing.

Going to leave things are they are and hope I can reserve a phone Friday afternoon.

You'll probably get a refund later on. The swap/cancel/restart process a couple of years ago didn't trigger the cancellation of the next payment (not that I even noticed!) and once Barclays had presumably balanced the figures in the background I got a refund. Not exactly the same as what's happening this time round but I presume they'll catch up "at some point" (unless they're chased up I suppose).
