To those who use this program...is it relatively easy to get approved? I like the idea of upgrading every year and having apple care coverage versus buying a new phone outright. One of the main questions I have to ask is about the credit limit on the card used for the program. As a very infrequent user of credit cards, the largest limit I have is $1000. Is a larger credit limit required for this program? My credit score is almost 800. Thanks in advance.

I don’t like the fact they hard pull every upgrade depends if you plan on making a big purchase with your credit

I am joining this year for the first time. From what I have heard it’s pretty easy. I would think with an 800 score you should be ok. Of course you will find out right away as you either get pre approved or denied. As far as people talking about the hard credit pull. I was told it’s only the initial application that has the hard credit check. Going forward yearly it’s a soft credit pull which will not affect your score. Hell even a hard credit pull has very minimal to no effect on your score.

It’s very easy to get approved as long as you have a decent credit limit and a decent credit score.

I’ve heard an unverified claim that you need to have available credit on your card that is around the total price of the iPhone and AppleCare. I doubt that though. Assuming you’re in the U.S., Citizens Bank doesn’t put a hold on your card of the total amount, so how would they know what your available credit is?

I’m not sure, but $1000 seems fine. I think you’ll be ok.

This is correct. CreditKarma shows that I still have a hard check from Equifax from 2016 and now it shows another one since I started a brand new loan for my partner.

Basically had zero negative effect on my score.

Thank you all for your help! I’m optimistic and will post if I’m approved once the new iPhone is released!
