I'm a first time potential customer to the IUP. I've read the benefits about being in the IUP for those that upgrade to a new iPhone every year.

I've been buying my iPhones full-price every year and don't see much benefit to doing so anymore since I loose quite a bit during re-sell, even though all of them were in pristine conditions.

I plan to pre-order tonight, but wanted to know if it's possible to sign up for IUP during that stage, or do I have to go to the store sign up, or has the deadline past to sign up at all?

If you asking if you can sign up for the 24 or 30 month payment plan, which allows an upgrade halfway... most purchase plans offer and some require it.

Deadline passed at 4PM PST today if you wanted to secure a new model on launch day.

The deadline at 4pm was Pre-Approval for those already in IUP AND
Return their phones which would close out the loan and require PreApproval for a New One

If your Applying for the First Time you have to go through the Loan Approval process and on launch night it will not be instantaneous

That was incorrect - it's my first time doing IUP and the 4 pm deadline was for both new and existing iUP customers.

I actually have never done the IUP, so I wasn't entirely sure myself. Just went by what I had read.

I always thought it was just a matter of paying monthly.

The first time you apply, it is a hard inquiry. Every year after that, it is a soft pull.

I did that last year. Bought at full price and went into store after and told them I wanted to go on the upgrade program and they did it for me with the same phone. They processed the return first and did something to keep the serial tagged to you. It works
